Das Experimental-Electronic Label "Spymania" wurde 1995 von den Schulkameraden Hardy Finn, Paul Fowler und Tom "Squarepusher" Jenkinson in Brighton gegründet. Die bisherigen Releases gelten noch als Geheimtips, für Squarepusher war "Spymania" der Karrierestart. Die anderen "Spymania Allstars" sind Wafta - darker Breakbeat, Modi Jedson - Drum & Bass zwischen Jazz und Techno und Si Begg - jazziger Jungle. Si Begg, Partner von Cristian Vogel, ist der Meister der Metamorphosen; unter Bigfoot, Cabbage Boy und Buckfunk 3000 infizierte er bisher die Labels Language, Chrome, Tresor, Mille Plateaux, Mosquito und jüngst Ninja Tunes mit komplexer Strangeness und bringt einen Liveset im Wildstyle Discofunk. Eigentlich sollte das der Soundtrack des neuen James Bond sein. Denn dieser Musik gehört, laut Patrick Pulsinger, definitiv die Zukunft.

The 4 (with 2 other tiny trax) tracker that first got Tom Jenkinson widespread interest. Often reviewed as "nutty".
Spy002 - Alroy road trax featuring the Duke of Harringay (1995)
5 tracker of the duke's jazz breakbeat side. Not a jungle track with a sax loop, this shit had rhodes solos. Ok, its Tom Jenkinson, not the duke. Also features a rather good dub thing.
Spy003 - College street zoo - Wafta (1996)
Noiser kids go breakbeat, featuring the "future intelligent darkcore classic" (NME) morpeth itsot and the chords Martin Wood wrote after breaking up with his girl of 5 years. Oh, and the darkest thing we've done.
Spy004 - Avit ep - Spymania Allstars (1997)
6 trax of our techno/breakbeat/industrial stuff, from Si Begg, Alvis Parsley (= Martin Wood), Modi Jedson (= Glenn Littlewood & Hardy Finn), Paddington Breaks (= Patrick Doherty), Wafta (= Martin Wood & Hardy Finn) and Tightpac (= Martin Wood). Bloody great.
